Our Story
Blue Water Timber Products is a family-owned forestry company based in Barrie, Ontario, serving landowners and property managers across Simcoe County and the surrounding regions. With over 30 years of hands-on experience in Ontario’s timber industry, owner Jim Moffatt has built a business rooted in hard work, honest dealing, and a deep respect for the land.
What started as a career in the forest has grown into a full-service timber operation.Jim and his team handle every stage of the process, from evaluating your standing timber and marking trees for harvest, to felling, sorting, and delivering logs to mills and buyers across the province, with select timber also reaching export markets. Blue Water Timber Products is capable of handling any job from start to finish.
As a forest timber contractor, we understand that your property is more than just a source of timber. It’s your land, your investment, and in many cases, your home. That’s why we take the time to work individually with each landowner, ensuring that trees and areas on the property that do not require harvesting remain unharmed. Jim Moffatt brings more than 30 years of forestry expertise to every project. His knowledge spans every aspect of the timber harvesting process: evaluating woodlot quality, identifying species and their market value, planning efficient harvests that minimize environmental impact, and managing the logistics of getting logs from stump to mill.
Over the decades, Blue Water Timber Products has earned a reputation for efficiency and environmental responsibility. We work on both private lands and crown lands, and all of our operations are conducted in compliance with local by-law requirements for each county and district we operate in.
